Adapting Social Safety Net Operations to Insecurity in the Sahel (World Bank)

Social protection is difficult to reach in “high-risk conditions” such as those which exist in the Sahelian region. The safety nets in the respective countries of the region needs to be designed with a focus on assessment, targeting, and a sensible way in which the payment systems are designed. Supervision in a context of fragility is necessary.
