The website sahara-sahel.org is an initiative of Policyinstitute.net. It is our mission to deliver reliable and purposeful analyses in the fields of politics, of the economy and on questions of strategy concerning the Sahel – a region which spans Africa from West to East, covering desert areas in the North and more humid zones in the South.
Policyinstitute.net’s founder, Thorsten Koch, is a journalist, social science author and researcher, and not-for-profit NGO Manager. He used to serve as Senior Expert on Mauritania and, for years, has engaged in soft counter-extremism.
To date, Policyinstitute.net maintains four topical websites. Besides sahara-sahel.org, these are strategism.org, counter-terrorism.org and preventhate.org.
