In order to address the growing security and governance issues in the Sahel and West Africa, MISAHEL and international partners organized a high-level workshop. It is summarized in this article and highlights the need for an integrated strategy that links security, good governance, regional collaboration, and multilateral action in order to achieve sustained stabilization. Stronger institutions, inclusive governance, coordinated international partnerships, and long-term policies that address the underlying causes of instability rather than depending just on military solutions were all demanded by the participants.
