Extreme weather patterns are intensifying the problem in the Sahel, intensifying intercommunal violence and hastening population exodus. This region, which includes nations like Burkina Faso and Mali, is especially susceptible to climate change because of its dearth of natural resources and reliance on rain-fed agriculture. Important institutions like the CGIAR, the Integrated Development Authority for the Liptako-Gourma area (ALG), and the United Nations Development Programme (PNUD) have joined forces to support national climate security initiatives throughout the region in an attempt to address these urgent problems.
