This toolkit can help funding organizations, diplomatic representations, as well as practitioners, in finding guidance on how to design interventions to prevent or resolve conflict in the Sudano-Sahel. Search for Common Ground (SFCG) broke new territory with the study focusing on “major conflict zones within the Sudano-Sahel ecological zone,” especially where conflict is rooted in pastoral livestock production across borders, in the years 2010-2020.

The report was compiled on the basis of academic research and a meta review, including by SFCG’s field offices throughout the Sudano-Sahel. Primary relevance was given to the countries Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin, the Central African Republic, and the Sudan/South Sudan.
