The UN Support Plan for the Sahel spans the years 2018–2030 and focuses on ten nations. The Plan is intended to assist in putting the priorities for achieving the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development into action. In line with UN Security Council resolution 2391 (2017) 1, this plan, which was created to encourage a cogent and coordinated approach targeted at improved efficiency within the context of the UN’s integrated strategy for the Sahel, is at the center of the international response to the region. The objective of the Support Plan is to enhance cooperation and bolster coordination with regional partners, encompassing bilateral and multilateral organizations, national and regional institutions, the commercial sector, and civil society groups. Young people and women are the targets.
