Landlocked Sahel states back Morocco’s sea access initiative (AP via Newsday)

According to the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the landlocked nations of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger have supported a Moroccan effort to grant them access to the Atlantic Ocean. In Rabat, Morocco’s capital, the foreign ministers of the three military-ruled West African countries discussed their countries’ stances with King Mohammed VI on Monday, according to a ministry statement.
