It is more decisive than ever to offer data and resources to evaluate and solve the issues as the state of food and nutrition security worsens in many regions of the world. For the Sahel and West Africa area, OECD/SWAC offers a vital forum for policy coordination and discussion through the Food Crisis Prevention Network (RPCA). Food systems are evolving quickly at the same time. The population of West Africa is expected to expand from 400 million in 2020 to 540 million in 2030, with two-thirds of that growth occurring in urban regions due to comparatively higher earnings. We examine and discuss with policymakers how these structural forces are changing the ways that food is produced, bought, and consumed.
