Adaptive Social Protection (ASP) is a collection of social protection policies, procedures, and initiatives that support the poorest people’s resilience, productivity, and human capital while enhancing their ability to anticipate, manage, and adjust to shocks. ASP has shown significant improvements in a number of welfare aspects in the Sahel through the implementation of shock-responsive programs, economic inclusion measures, and regular social safety nets. It has improved food security, resilience, productivity, and household welfare for the most vulnerable and impoverished. In a broader sense, it has demonstrated noteworthy benefits for the economy, society, and coming generations.
