Morocco’s Atlantic Initiative Seeks to Transform Sahel-Saharan Geopolitical Landscape (Morocco World News)

On November 6, 2023, Morocco officially started its far-reaching Atlantic Initiative, which aims to increase the kingdom’s influence in the Sahel-Saharan area and provide Sahelian countries nautical access to the Atlantic Ocean. A new research highlights many possible barriers that the project may encounter, such as the absence of significant nations, financial obstacles, security concerns, and rivalry from Algeria.
