COP 29: Climate education in West Africa and the Sahel: One of the world’s climate hotspots, on the frontline on climate and environmental education (UNESCO)

A recently created Regional Declaration on Strengthening Climate Change Education in West Africa was unveiled at COP 28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It argues that education is critical to fostering resilience throughout the area because it gives youth the tools they need to take action and benefit from the “demographic dividend,” which is the continent of Africa’s greatest future asset.
