Beyond humanitarian aid: the EU’s approach to alleviating food crisis in the Sahel at a time of global insecurity (Foundation for European Progressive Studies)

In spite of mounting obstacles to development policy implementation, the study finds that the EU has continued to provide humanitarian aid to the nations in the region and has even increased the amount of money allocated to food safety situations. Together with its unwavering commitment to providing humanitarian aid, the EU also needs to find practical ways to address the issue of excessive public debt and climate change, both of which have a substantial impact on food insecurity in the Sahel.
