Africa is creating its own Great Wall – and it’s green (World Economic Forum)

May 1, 2021 #Communities, #Economy, #Environment

A 8,000-kilometer strip of savanna in the southern part of the Sahara is set to create 10 million jobs and sequester 250 megatons of carbon. Donors such as France and the World bank have contributed to this “Great Green Wall” project, which could be achieved by the year 2030, thus restoring 100 million hectares of green land.
