Climate Change and Conflict in the Sahel (ClimateLinks/ USAID)

Religiously-motivated violence and networks animated by crime risks growing in Mali. At the intersection of climate change and conflict, complex linkages could be exacerbated by future dynamics of “climate stress.” Conflict could arise from a convergence of agro-pastoralism, but the tenure of rural areas of land and its resources could be managed in ways which provide changes and possibilites in view of mitigating conflict.
