In order to address the interconnected problems in Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger, the German government funds the Sahel Resilience Partnership (SRP), which unites German development assistance with United Nations organizations. In order to improve community resilience and social cohesion, it operationalizes the humanitarian–development–peace (HDP) nexus through coordinated, multisectoral initiatives centered on food security, climate resilience, social services, and conflict prevention. Integrated answers to difficult situations are made possible by the partnership’s hierarchical coordinating framework and shared regional planning. Full operational convergence is, however, constrained by ongoing political unrest, governance issues, and coordination challenges across entities with disparate goals and resources. To increase efficacy and long-term resilience outcomes, it is determined that strengthening complementarity, expanding coordination at the local level, and improving data sharing are crucial priorities.
