Partnership strengthens resilience in five countriesas climate change increases child risks (UNICEF)

Jul 31, 2025 #Assorted, #Communities, #Environment

Conflict and insecurity throughout the Sahel are being exacerbated by the growing effects of climate change. Children are disproportionately affected by these effects, particularly the smallest ones, who now experience severe food shortages and interrupted access to necessary services. Food shortages affect over half of children in the central Sahel between the ages of 6 and 23 months; this situation is made worse by frequent and escalating climate shocks.
