A better long-term future for the Sahel area depends on universal access to high-quality education. Education boosts wages and employability, reduces gender disparities, helps families escape poverty, fortifies institutions, and produces advantages that trickle down to the following generation. Getting a good education is still difficult. Fortunately, the area has made the crucial initial move. The number of children in the region who are enrolled in elementary and secondary school has almost quadrupled and tripled, respectively, over the last 15 years. To assist education, governments have declared high-level pledges and started a number of programs. Even Nevertheless, a large number of kids continue to skip school, and those who do go learn substantially less than they need to. The Sahel Education White Paper highlights true game-changers for nations to enhance their educational results, building on previous successes and present advantages.
