The seriousness of the crisis is highlighted by the fact that the region is seeing a record number of individuals in need of immediate food and nutrition assistance for the eighth year in a row. Action must be swift, concerted, and sustained in response to this concerning trend. To address the increasing vulnerability of impacted communities, governments, donors, and national and international organizations must work together more closely. To protect the food and nutritional security of the most vulnerable populations, a coordinated strategy involving multisectoral and integrated actions is necessary. 52 million people may experience severe food insecurity between June and August of 2025, according to projections, if the right steps are not implemented.
