In the wake of the disastrous floods in Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, and Burkina Faso, the EU has issued €5.4 million in humanitarian aid to assist the most impacted people. In the six nations, the projected number of impacted individuals is about 4.4 million. Homes, public health facilities, water systems, schools, and sanitary facilities, along with roads, infrastructure, and agricultural lands, have all been destroyed by floods. The danger of waterborne illness outbreaks is rising due to limited access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services. The money will support our local humanitarian partners in meeting the most pressing needs for food, shelter, clean water and sanitation, and other necessities while also enabling them to deliver quick relief.
