Regional report on food and nutrition security for West Africa and the Sahel 2024 | In brief (Global Network Against Food Crises & FSIN)

Jun 16, 2024 #Nutrition

For the 2024 lean season, the food and nutritional condition is concerning. The total number and percentage of people in CH Phase 3 or above are predicted to be the greatest ever recorded in CH history due to the combination between conflict and civil instability, economic shocks, weather extremes, underlying poverty, and other susceptibility variables, even if the number of people in the highest phases has drastically declined in some countries since the 2023 peak.
