Sahel: Council approves conclusions on the EU’s integrated strategy in the region (Council of the EU)

The European Union has expressed its intention to “deepen its partnership” with the G5 member states, existing institutions and, specifically, the peoples living in the Sahel region. The local populations. so far touched by conflicts, could see positive change on the basis of the partnership leading to a “consolidation of democracy, peace and stability,” as well as “sustainable development.”
