The role of social media in Mali and its relation to violent extremism: A youth perspective (UNICRI, ICCT)

Social media platforms, as used not only by youth, but also violent extremists, can become a tool for worsening violence. Teaching and propagating “media literacy to combat the radicalisation of young people on social media … has a successful record in addressing harmful and violent content,” this report states.
