The regional initiative for the development, resilience, and valorisation of water for West Africa (DREVE) and its numerous pillars were the main topics of discussion during the virtual meeting of West African and Sahelian states and regional institutions on December 5, 2024, which focused on the sustainable management of water resources in West Africa. Participants talked on the potential and problems associated with project funding, capacity building, climate risk management, and protecting the Fouta Djallon Mountains. In order to enhance water resource management in the area, the meeting emphasized the significance of cross-border collaboration, water infrastructure investment, and the use of integrated techniques.
