Transitional Justice Tools To Address Radicalism And Violent Extremism In The Sahel Region (CSVR, South Africa)

Dec 1, 2024 #Security

The occurrence of violent extremism in the Sahel, namely in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, is examined in three case studies. It includes a review of the military strategies used to combat this issue thus far. Nonetheless, the study contends that this method falls short in addressing the underlying reasons of this phenomena. Therefore, it is suggested that the best way to combat radicalism and violent extremism in Africa is to use transitional justice measures.
