In order to address the underlying causes of instability, forced migration, and irregular migration and to improve migration management, the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for Stability and Addressing Root Causes of irregular Migration and Displaced Persons in Africa (EUTF for Africa) was established. The EU Trust Fund for Africa operates programs in 26 partner nations spread over three African regions. These nations are confronting an increasing number of issues, such as population pressure, extreme poverty, poor social and economic infrastructure, institutional weaknesses, internal conflicts, and a lack of resilience to food crises and environmental stress.
